The categories are diverse and include broad topics like science, technology, lifestyle, sports, entertainment, society and miscellaneous. The Listoid user community contributes to each list and can vote on items to determine rank. The lists are designed to be similar to wikis so they can be edited by anyone. What is the history and popularity of the app?

Listoid was founded in 2009 by Leo and Philip Guara in Frisco, Texas. The website was intended to provide top lists of everything imaginable. Today Listoid seems to be working hard towards that goal. Users can find almost any kind of list, from best one hit wonders to cutest wild animals and best robot depictions in film.

What are the differences to other apps?

Top lists are a very popular item on the internet today. They can present information in a way that is concise, easy to read and fun. Listoid stands out because it takes this idea to the extreme. Users can build their own favorites list and share it with the community. Other users can in turn vote on a list to elevate it in the ranks and earn the original poster some notoriety on Listoid.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

The Listoid website as a fun feel to it. The dark color scheme users grey and deep blue with just enough white background to make the site easy to read. The homepage features an example list graphic while actual lists are presented in a white box with a blue vote counter and short description detailing the list’s contents. Lists are also complimented by a relevant thumbnail image to go along with the list’s theme.

A new user can click either the blue “Join” button at the top, right hand corner of the homepage or the silver “Join” button near the center of the page.
